Ah, shopping on Kauai! North or south, which way should you go? The Hanalei Center and the Ching Young Village Shopping Center are a unique blend of shops and restaurants. Art, clothing, Hawaiiana, souvenirs, and surf shops - pizza, burgers, sushi, salads and more - they have it all and you will want to spend the day there, if you can pull yourself away from the beautiful Hanalei Bay.

Heading south, explore the specialty shops at the Princeville Health Club and Spa on your way Kilauea. Take the Lighthouse Road to Kong Lung Center for extraordinary shopping. Not to be missed is Island Soap and Candle, where you can see the ancient art of soapmaking in action, as they manufacture both traditional South Pacific and a custom line of specialty soaps and candles.

The Kilauea Lighthouse, dedicated in 1913, is a "must-see" on Kauai. The light was decommissioned in 1976 and the US Fish and Wildlife Service acquired it in 1985. It is currently managed as part of a 203-acre wildlife refuge.

Back at the Kong Lung Center after an afternoon of watching birds and enjoying the educational exhibits, Island Bistro is a cool spot to sip something tropical, enjoy pupus (appetizers), or eat a full meal while listening to live music.
